Toni Fahrni has been working as a project manager at Akustik & Raum AG for around six years. In this interview, he explains what his vacation thriller has to do with an exciting project, what he and his team are particularly proud of and what needs to be fulfilled for him to be satisfied at the end of a working day.
Mr. Fahrni, what makes your everyday life as a project manager at Akustik & Raum AG special?
Toni Fahrni: Our team consists of three project managers on site and two external employees. This can be challenging during absences or hectic times. However, as a team we pride ourselves on completing our work reliably and on time, even in such phases.
What do you enjoy most in your day-to-day work?
Once again, I have to praise the entire team: We have a very good working atmosphere. Personally, I enjoy working with numbers and the sophisticated optimization of orders the most.
How do you cooperate with other departments within the company?
We often work on projects across departments. This collaboration works well and is very pleasant. Ultimately, we are all united by the fact that we create added value with holes - that's what makes us special. (laughs)
What needs to be fulfilled for you to be satisfied at the end of a working day?
I'm very straightforward about that: I'm satisfied when everything I set out to do for the day is done.
Is there a project that you will remember in particular?
The project in Bad Vilbel, a town near Frankfurt, was very special. On the one hand because the acoustic elements were made of eucalyptus, and on the other because the project took a whole year to complete. It was also a coincidence that the vacation thriller I was reading at the time was set in exactly the same place.
